Christina Burg, PsyD

About My Approach:

My approach to therapy can be described as empathic, growth promoting, and empowering. I believe the key to moving past difficulties in your life involves developing greater awareness, understanding, and compassion for yourself in a safe and affirming space. I help clients to develop their self-awareness and compassion by offering understanding and support while also gently challenging them to move towards health and wellbeing. Developing a greater understanding of yourself, such as around your emotions, your relationships, and how your past experiences impact you, can help to reduce your distress and give you the power to change your life in the present.

My work can also be described as strengths-based and collaborative. We will build on your strengths and work together to find and begin removing the obstacles that prevent you from being your healthiest, happiest self. I see us as doing “detective work” together in which we get to be curious, playful, and even laugh when the moment calls for it as we work towards your happiness and wellbeing.

Education and Specialties:

I specialize in individual therapy with adults and have a particular interest in working with students. My areas of specialty include long-term therapy, relationship issues, family of origin issues, relational trauma, transitional issues, identity issues, LGBTQ+ issues, depression, anxiety, and women’s issues.

I earned my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 2017 and earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 2014.
